Spotting ‘eyes, ears and tails bundled together’ among the offcuts from the Pallet Project, Studiomama began to make wooden creatures in 2010, just for fun.
Studiomama created a series of small wooden creatures assembled entirely from offcuts of wood left behind by other projects, often themselves made from repurposed materials. This repeated reuse of waste material is entirely in line with the ingenuity and sustainable ethos of the studio.
Each piece has its own character and personality and they have developed their own following both online and among avid collectors. Each a one-off, they were sold through Phillip de Pury's London and New York galleries.
