T-Table for Rocket Gallery

Book A Table

Contemporary coffee table design

In recognition of the ‘alter’ of the twenty-first century, Rocket Gallery’s Jonathan Stephenson commissioned Studiomama to create a coffee table to be presented alongside a collection of minimalist artists’ books in a group exhibition entitled ‘Book A Table’ coinciding with both the London Design Festival and Whitechapel Art Book Fair.

Studiomama designed a coffee table comprising a base made from orange powder-coated steel and the t-shaped piece of solid walnut that gives the table its name, topped with a single sheet of glass, resulting in a contemporary twenty-first-century object with clear Scandinavian mid-century roots.

The T-Table was exhibited at the Rocket Gallery alongside coffee tables by contemporary designers, architects and artists from across Europe and the United States.
